Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Identify critical incident and consequences
   • Critical incidents and probable implications are identified and evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures
2. Secondary threats are identified and monitored, in accordance with workplace procedures
3. Data is evaluated, in accordance with workplace procedures to determine probable causes, consequences and potential responses
4. Establish contingency plan
   • Contingency and emergency response plans are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
5. Additional resources are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
6. Alternate contingency plan strategies to cater for crisis variations are developed, in consultation with team members and in accordance with workplace procedures
7. Establish communications
   • Communication links with external authorities for coordination of resources are established, in accordance with workplace procedures
8. Communication with key stakeholders is established to disseminate information, in accordance with workplace procedures
9. Team roles, both internal and external, are identified and conveyed to personnel, in accordance with workplace procedures
10. Coordinate response to critical incident
    • Response is coordinated, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements, with allowance made for personnel and equipment limitations
11. Events and responses are prioritised with consideration given to the needs of stakeholders, in accordance with workplace procedures
12. Impact of secondary threats are identified and assessed, in accordance with workplace procedures
13. Contingency plan is actioned, in accordance with workplace policies and procedures
14. Additional resources are coordinated and directed, in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Critical incident power generation restoration strategies are monitored, evaluated and adjusted, in accordance with workplace procedures
16. Document incident and response
    • Critical incident equipment failure or problems are recorded and processed, in accordance with workplace procedures
17. Feedback from stakeholders and personnel debriefing comments are recorded and analysed, in accordance with workplace procedures
18. Critical incident reports and findings are generated and distributed to appropriate personnel, in accordance with workplace procedures
19. Improvements to critical incident procedures are recommended to appropriate personnel, in accordance with workplace procedures
20. Alternative contingency strategies are identified, analysed and recommendations are communicated to appropriate personnel, in accordance with workplace procedures
